Make art for myself on my own time?  You'd think that pursuing creative endeavors when I'm not teaching would be a no-brainer.  Unfortunately, sometimes it's just as difficult for an art teacher to get motivated as it is for an art student!  This summer I've found myself in a bit of a personal creative desert.  As I was organizing my photos from this past school year, I came across this gentle reminder that I like to display on my classroom wall.

It is time for me to take my own advice.  As I often tell others, I need to find my inspiration in the everyday.  I hear you loud and clear Paul Robeson, it's time to get creative again!

How do you break through creative blocks and deserts to get working on your own art again?
